Are there any other Sprint FanBoi's here in this newsgroup or am I the only
one left? I am not a shill and don't own stock in Sprint (thank God for
that), however, I really do enjoy the Sprint service and believe that they
have a lot of good options like the ability to force roaming anytime that
you like.

While dumping the alt.cellular.sprintpcs bit bucket, I heard mikeyhsd
say:

I have at times been in locations where the Sprint signal was marginal,
but the roaming signal, usually Verizon or Alltel, was quite strong.
Since the phone always connects to its native network when it's
available by default, being able to force it to use the stronger roaming
signal is a good feature to have at times. I've found it particularly
useful when using my data plan to connect my laptop to the web.

Yes, as it should. But the times I'm talking about are when the Sprint
signal is just strong enough to maintain the connection, but
particularly for modem use, is weak enough that the constant error
correcting is slowing the throughput significantly. Switching to the
stronger roaming signal gets it back up to normal throughput. For voice
and data when in motion, it can make the difference between erratic
connections as you move in and out of range, and a stable connection. Is
the feature something I use a lot? No... But it is a nice feature to
have when it's needed.

Fanboi? I don't think I can go that far. Satisfied customer? I'm there.
Confidence in the company? Getting better by the day. Do I think they
have the tools to kick ass? Only if they recognize them and learn how to
use them.
