Greetings,

I am still working out all the great things I can do with my T68i Bluetooth
phone and the Internet. I have figured out how to access Earthlink email by
making it my default email service and using the phone. I think I can get to
my other internet/pop3 email services if I just set them up.

What I'd like to do is to use Bluetooth to connect my laptop to the phone
and use the phone as a modem to the internet. What I am wondering is do I
need to use GPRS or GSM or can I simply dial-up the Earthlink number locally
and use it that way? I have tried the Earthlink dial-up and while the phone
does dial no connection is made so I suspect that I need to use my GSM or
GPRS service. Is there any reason to use one over the other? What kind of
speeds can I expect with this sort of hook up?

Thanks in advance
Tony Clark

You can dial Eartlhink while using the T68 as modem (via Bluetooth, cable or
IR). The maximum speed on GSM is 9600kbps, though. If you connect to GPRS
(which is a network access provided by your carrier), then maximum speed
will increase to around 40kbps. Since you already have the phone accesing
the e-mail over GPRS, your notebook will be able to do the same.

Look at http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449 for instructions
on how to setup this.

Ooops... True. I meant (as indicated by Benjamin) 9.6kbps...
