Samsung SYNC Bluetooth Issues

Hi,

My Moto v551 died so I just got a new Samsung SYNC A707 which I like a lot so far. But I'm having a problem accessing the phone with Bluetooth. It may be just that it works differently. With the v551 I was able to explore the phone's folders with Windows Explorer. I was able to copy graphic and sound files to the phone and from the phone and delete files from the phone using Windows Explorer. With the A707 I cannot see files on my phone with Windows Explorer. I can send files from the phone to the computer and I can send files from the computer to the phone. But, unlike the v551, I cannot see files on the phone from the computer. Is this the way it's supposed to work? Or is there some setting on the phone that will make the files on the phone visible from the computer?

Additionally, I found that Samsung's PC Studio can see the phone over Bluetooth but it cannot connect to the phone via Bluetooth. I've had to order a USB cable in order to use PC Studio. Is there anyone else who is using PC Studio who can connect to an A707 using Bluetooth? Any suggestions as to what to do to connect using Bluetooth?

Hey CD,
I've connected successfully using Bluetooth with both my V551 and my
Grandson's Samsung SYNC, on my XP Pro laptop and the V551on my Vista Home
Premium laptop. The Vista was much more difficult. I use DataPilot to
maintain names and numbers, pictures, music files, etc. I use "connect" in
Vista and the equivalent in XP Pro, with dial string "*99***3#", to use my
V551 as a modem to connect to the Internet when I'm not where I have a high
speed connection. To make Vista work, I have to remove the "EHTRAY" process
each time I reboot. What OS are you using?

You may not have seen my followup post. I discovered that my Palm
hotsync software was conflicting with my bluetooth connection. Once I
shutdown the hotsync software I had no problems connecting to the
Samsung using Bluetooth.

OK, here's a different question. Can you connect from your Samsung to
your v551 using bluetooth and transfer photos that you took with one
phone's camera to the other phone? I cannot and I suspect that cell
phones in general cannot transfer files between themselves using bluetooth.

I have no idea. My Grandson has his phone so I cannot experiment. I
uploaded his names and numbers to my laptop, then downloaded them to the
SYNC. DataPilot changed the format from one type of phone to the other. I
also used DataPilot to upload and download pictures.

I had this problem for a while until I discovered that many phones have a
security feature built in that allow you to specify which paired devices are
allowed automatic access to your phone or require permission each time they
try to connect (You phone will ask you if the device can connect each time
it tries to communicate with your phone).

If you phone has this feature, you will find that each paired device has an
option to authorize or unauthorized the device for automatic communication.
Set the device to authorized and many of your communication problems will go
away.

Doesn't work for me. I pair my A707 to the V551, it asks for
permission, I give permission, I still have no access to transfer photos
or sounds. In fact I have no access at all to anything between phones.
