Can Bluetooth be used with two devices?

I have set up my cellphone (Motorola RAZR V3C) to work with (via
Bluetooth) a GPS system. Of course, it functions essentially like a
speakerphone.

My wife's car has significant road noise, and I can't really use the GPS
phone in that car. So I'm looking at a noise-cancelling headset for
that car.

Can a Bluetooth-capable cellphone be set up to use with two devices?
Or would I have to go through the "handshake" setup routine with each
change?

The cellphone will quite happily pair with two different devices, if only
one of the devices wants to pair with it at a time. I think my phone
remembers the pairing from eight devices.

My Nokia phone has an option to connect automatically if an authorized
device requests a connection, or to prompt and wait.

Does the GPS device only attempt to pair when you request it, or does it
pair as soon as you get into the car?

It is $80 at Newegg.com, only in Titanium. VMX100-T.
Scouting around, the black VMX100-B that I have seems higher priced.

There is no problem in theory with 2 simulataneous BT connections from one
device. I use a PDA with tomtom and a bt gps and the PDA can pick up my
e-mail or use tomtom services via a BT enabled phone while tomtom is
running. The questoin will be whether your phone's BT implementation or
higher level software will allow it.
