I just got a Belkin BT access with two ports for USB printers. If I use
a BT dongle to connect to this point (which will not be connected to my
router) so that I can print, will there be any security issues that might
allow someone to access my system via the access point? It has great range
than the dongle if the specs are correct. I am new to BT, thanks in advance.

Patrick,

Thanks. What I was wondering, though, is that if someone could connect
to the access point and through that get to the computers. It seems I have
to allow the connection between the PC's and the access point, I guess what
I need to do is to be sure that it only allows my PC's to connect to it.

Hi Thomas,
as I know this question could be answered with yes and no. For myself I use
a MSI BT dongle. There you can set the security option to allow all BT
devices to connect or you can choose only dedicated devices. So it seems to
be a configuration problem.

it's short range protocol, so make sure no one can come close.
